Holiday Festival

Newtown Savings Bank presents the 29th Annual Holiday Festival to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services. The festival is home to the Nutcracker Suite Ballet, Historic Trolley Tour, Historic House Tour, Festival of Trees, Gingerbread House Decorating Contest, Holiday Tea and new additions such as a Scholastic Book Sale, Yankee Candle Sale and from the Disney inspired movie a Frozen Frenzy party! There will also be a kick off Jingle Bell Jam concert on Saturday night at 7:00pm before the festival, tickets are $10 and  separate from the Holiday Festival ticket but will get you reduced admission of $5 on an adult Holiday Festival ticket.  Holiday Festival tickets and Jingle Bell Jam tickets are available at Newtown Savings Bank, (Newtown – Main St. & Sand Hill Plaza, Brookfield – Federal Rd.) Everything Newtown, and in our NYFS Administrative Offices located at 13 Berkshire Rd. Prices are as follows: $25 for the Family 4 Pack (2 adults 2 children) $10 for adults and $5 for children ($10 max for children). Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event in Edmond Town Hall.

Jingle Bell Jam

The Jingle Bell Jam sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank and Sippin Energy will be held the day before the Holiday Festival on Saturday, December 6th at 7:00pm in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall. The concert will feature Holiday Favorite tunes from community favorite band, Goldrush. Goldrush is a unique ensemble that performs original, traditional and American Roots Music. This will be a separate ticket purchase that can be bought in advance or at the door.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the various Newtown Savings Bank locations as well as NYFS. Folks interested in attending both the Jingle Bell Jam and the Holiday Festival will enjoy $5 off a regular adult ticket to the Holiday Festival making it $15 for both events! Gingerbread House Contest

 The 29th Annual Holiday Festival is eager to announce our Gingerbread House contest that will be held on Sunday, December 7th  at Edmond Town Hall. Completed designs must be delivered to Edmond Town Hall Gym on Saturday, December 6 between 2:00pm-7:00pm. Judging will take place on Sunday at 3:30PM.  Decorators do not need to be present to win. Festival of Trees

Every year local businesses, organizations and families donate decorated trees, wreaths and holiday decorations to our Festival of Trees. The Festival of Trees is being held at Edmond Town Hall gym on Sunday, December 7th  and has been named, “one of the most spectacular parts of the Holiday Festival”. The trees are of various shapes and sizes, artificial, live, stuffed, ceramic, wood and themed trees. All proceeds are donated to Newtown Youth and Family Services programs and counseling services.  Raffle tickets are available Sunday from 11-4. Winners will be drawn on Sunday, December 7that 4:15PM. You do not need to be present to win, but are encouraged to attend!

 Holiday Tea

Live holiday music filling the air, the smell of mulled apple cider and tea, freshly baked scones and tea breads can be found in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall during the 2014 Holiday Festival. All ages are encouraged to visit the Holiday Tea hosted by Newtown Savings Bank staff. Remember the Nutcracker Suite Ballet performances are at noon and 2pm, so this is a great way to refuel before heading to the Festival of Trees or the Historic Trolley Tours! Your Holiday Festival Ticket will get you one serving a scone and tea or cider. Seperate tickets can be purchased for $5.

 Historic Trolley Tours

This year we are excited to have a Historic Tour down Main St. aboard a festive Trolley! Dan Cruson, Town Historian for Newtown will take you down Main St. while you sit back, relax and take in all the beautiful history Main St. in Newtown has to offer. There will be four 30 minute scheduled tours that will begin and end at Edmond Town Hall. Your Holiday Festival ticket is the only way to catch this intriguing Historic ride- no seperate tickets are available!

The Hostoric Trolley Tour are first come first serve (seating limited) and will be available at 11:15, 12:15, 2:00 and 3:00. There will be a sign where to meet in the front of Edmond Town Hall.

 The Nutcracker Suite Ballet

We are pleased and honored to have the Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet perform the Nutcracker Suite at Noon and 2pm at Edmond Town Hall. These students have been working very hard to perfect their talents to entertain family/friends/and Holiday Festival patrons. We are thrilled to have such a talented bunch of performers here in Newtown! Your Holiday Festival ticket will get you into one showing of the Ballet, or you may buy an individual ticket just for the Ballet for $7.

 Historic House Tours

Fresh pine swag, crystal candelabra’s flickering flames, handcrafted stockings hung by the chimney with care, homemade snowflake cookies with crystal blue sprinkles….. Back by popular demand- The Holiday Festival House Tour! Absent from last years event the community spoke up and we listened!

 We have several beautiful and historically rich homes that will be open for the Holiday Festival participants to tour on foot. Homes are located on Main Street and East Street where a local designer/team has created a festive retreat for you to enjoy. Participants have the option to stroll up and down the enchanted streets of Newtown or take the shuttle (seperate from the trolley) that is complimentary with the purchase of your Holiday Festival ticket. Homes will be open from 11AM-4PM on Sunday, December 7th

 Frozen Frenzy

From the Disney inspired movie FROZEN, come celebrate the season at our Frozen Frenzy Party! There will be crafts, a snack, karaoke and even a surprise visit from some of the characters! This event is included in the Holiday Festival Admission.  

Schloastic Books and Yankee Candle Sale

It’s a one stop shop this year to get a gift for everyone on your list! Come visit the gym in Edmond Town Hall where there will be candles and books galore! We have stocked up on all of Yankee Candles fan favorite scents as well as some holiday favorites.  Scholastic will also have some great educational and holiday gifts for kids of all ages.
